How Do I Maintain And Care For Outdoor Carpet Tiles?

This article will discuss two types of outdoor carpet: Outdoor carpet tiles and grass outdoor carpeting. The tiles are the most convenient. They are easy to transport, install and easily fits in any room, with less waste. They come in numerous of colors and styles which make them easy to match to any room dcor. Grass outdoor carpeting is best used outside decks, patios and pool areas. Both reduce noise levels.

Outdoor carpet tiles are as rugged as the rest of the outdoor carpet. They withstand high traffic areas better than other types of carpet. If they become damaged you don’t need to tear up the entire carpet, just the damaged tiles. The tiles are made to include padding. This eliminates the need for extra padding. Both which saves time and money

Tiles are best if installed on cement, stone ceramic and wood floors. Manufactures recommend using interlocking tiles on patios and decks, because they allow the moisture to drain.

Before you install outdoor carpet tiles make sure the floor is clean and dry. To allow for temperature and humidity level adjustment of, tiles should sit in the room for 24 hours.

To install all you need to do is peal off the backing and press down. Make sure you align the arrows so your pile will go in the same direction.

Another type of outdoor carpet is grass outdoor carpeting made with olefin. It isn’t as expensive as the other outdoor carpets and it’s easer to maintain than the others. Since it is chemically treated it is often used for areas exposed to the sun rays and other harmful weather elements. Genera this type of carpet is stain moisture and fade resistant.

Before you choose which type of grass outdoor carpeting you want make sure you know what it will be used for. If it will be exposed to the sun, moisture or chemicals then it should have a marine backing, without the backing you will have a problem with mold. If it is for pool sides it should be protected from fading and chemicals. If the area has a lot of activity then the carpet needs to be thicker.

When choosing between grass outdoor carpeting and outdoor carpet tiles remember that tiles are good for areas protected from harmful rays where grade grass can be used for outdoor patios, decks, and around pools.
