Wicker Resin Wood
Wicker Furniture: Patio furniture made of wicker is easy to maintain. It can be cleaned with water with a garden hose or a pressure washer. Generally the furniture is cleaned using a duster. If the furniture is very dirty then use a sponge with mild soap to get rid of the extra grit and grime. Do not scrub vigorously instead use the sponge gently. Painted wicker Patio furniture tends to chip and crack. So you need to be very gentle while cleaning it with sponge.
Once cleaned with water allow wicker to dry completely. To protect the material and keep it shiny we need to use a common paste wax. Generally wicker furniture is weather resistant. But it is always better to safeguard the furniture from directly getting exposed to sun, wind, rain and snow for long time.
This furniture need special care during off-season and must be kept inside a garage or covered with plastic to ensure its safety.
Resin Furniture: Resin is a type of heavy-duty plastic that is best suitable for patio furniture. Furniture made with resin is strong and water resistant. It comes in different color and texture to suit the taste of people and to blend with the portico design.
A normal hose can be used to spray the loose dirt off. Then use a sponge and mild soap to remove dried materials and other dust particles. Do not put pressure while using sponge as it leaves scratch marks on the furniture. Use gentle abrasives after cleaning to bring back the smoothness in the furniture.
Generally resin is sturdy and exceptionally weather resistant. But it needs to be protected from prolonged exposure to sunlight, rain and snow. During off-season keep it inside the garage as it is easily foldable or keep it in a sheltered spot.
Wood furniture: Many types of wood are used in making patio furniture and each type needs different type of care and protection. It is always safe to follow the guidelines given by the manufacturer in respect to taking care of furniture so as to prolong its longevity.
Generally wooden furniture is treated with varnish or some protective coating so as to clean it easily. Clean it with soft sponge and mild soap and rinse it thoroughly to avoid any damage. During off-season it need to be stored inside. Cedar and teak furniture can be left outside in a sheltered spot.
