Debating About Building Here Are Must Know Facts About Chicken Coops
Ever thought about raising chickens? I am just like you, I was in the same place you are, thinking about different ways to save money, and also help the environment. Chickens is the way to go, I can tell you that having fresh eggs every morning is awesome, and then also saving money on top of that is even better. But there are some things that you need to know, you need to properly house your chickens or you more then likely will be wasting your time.
1.One of the most important things that you need to make sure of is that you build a safe chicken coops, because if you fail to provide shelter for them they won’t lay as many eggs for you, they will be prone to escaping, and predators. Something that always gets over
2.Some of the coops that people tend to build are boring and simple. True this does provide a home and shelter for the chickens, it provides no entertainment, and exercise. You wouldn’t think that something like this could effect your chickens but you will be pleasantly surprised at the difference you will notice. More eggs, different attitudes etc.
3.When you are building your chicken coops, one thing that sometimes gets over looked is properly weathering the structure. Depending on where you live, the winters can be harsh, and very wet. Remember that your chickens are not living inside with you, so they are experiencing the weather outside. Also the structure if it suffers from water damage, then it could be damaged, wasting your money and endangering your chickens.
One last thing to remember is to have fun building your chicken coop. When my son and I did this project it was more fun then anything. If you make this into a tedious project then that is what it will become. Also watch your material cost, this is something that can easily get out of hand.
