The Origins Of Furniture
The modern day furniture has evolved and developed, to its current stage, by passing through numerous civilizations, societies and technological advancements. It passed through various civilizations and different eras such as the prehistoric era; when man learned to farm; the Ancient Egyptian civilization, the Greek civilization, the Roman civilization, the Saxon era, the middle ages and then the 16th to the 20th centuries. In the prehistoric era, men built houses and basic furniture from stones. The Egyptian civilization used wooden furniture for the rich. The Greeks emphasized on wooden chests and couches. The Romans used upholstered and finely carved wooden furniture. The Saxon era furniture was very rough and simple, such wooden benches and tables etc.
It is very difficult to divide furniture into types because of its vastness in variety. However, furniture can be categorized on the basis of the function they have been manufactured to provide. For example, seating, lying or sleeping, flat surfaces etc.
A chaise lounge falls under the category of seating. A chaise lounge is a form of a very long chair or a sofa with the back at only one end. The word chaise lounge was born of an eggcorn i.e. the French word “chaise lounge”. A chaise lounge can be kept in the house as well as outdoors. Usually, people prefer to keep the chaise lounges outdoors on the poolside, the patio or porch.
Your backyard, garden, poolside, patio or porch is the most relaxing place for you to take some personal time, talk with your family or friends, read a book or watch after your kids while they play. For any and all these purposes, you need furniture sets that you can rely on. What is Resin?
Select outdoor furniture that can serve your leisurely needs, as well as your formal needs (dinners or parties). As the furniture will always be outdoors, you will need to buy furniture that is durable and can withstand weather changes.
Resin is a kind of plastic. It is extracted from plants, and then synthetic chemicals and compounds are added to create a hardened material, which resembles plastic, to manufacture furniture. Resin is rigid, strong, durable and safe to have around children i.e. it is perfect for the outdoors.
Resin is preferred for patio furniture because it can withstand extreme weather conditions. It will not deform under the scorching sun, nor will it crack in freezing temperatures. Resin furniture is considered to be the best furniture for beaches and sea shores because it can resist salt. For elegance in resin furniture, people tend to buy resin wicker furniture such as wicker chaise lounges and bistro sets.
You have to be careful while selecting furniture for your garden because; gardens have uneven surfaces and moisture in the soil, which, can be damaging to certain metals and materials, for example, wood. In this case as well, resin furniture will be the most economical solution but, wrought iron garden furniture can be another option.
