Great, The Very Best – Walk Behind Lawn Edger Critique
I live in Texas, and we have tough clay soil. I have not edged my yard ever, and have lived in my house for almost a year.
A good product for a great price. It works to my satisfaction, very powerful. Will most likely buy more items from this seller.
I purchased this edge trimmer after my old one broke. I had been using a Ryobi string trimmer with the edger attachment. That trimmer did the job well, but I could tell that the engine could not provide the power necessary to run an edger. Needless to say, after two years of use, the trimmer completely died. This B&D Hog Electric Edger gives excellent results, and it is very easy to operate. I’m retired now, and I’ve used several Gas and Electric edgers before.
It comes with a guide, so when I get setup correctly and I’m going in a straight line, it works like a champ. This edger does a great job if your walks just need a minor trim. Overall I am very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone. And judging from the curious looks by the neighbors, I’m sure I’ll get the chance. By the way, I don’t know what to do with the extra blade that I ordered, because the current one doesn’t seem to be in trouble for a long time to come. Wish you luck. Not sure how they get the picture that they do for trenching but I have yet to get any sort of trench that looks like theirs. If you need an edger, and don’t want the trouble of maintaining a gas-powered edger, this is the electric edger for you.
I purchased this edger back in early spring, but due to a broken wrist, and injured shoulder, I did not use this machine until last Saturday. The machine is very easy to operate, heavy enough to hold it on track, but not so heavy I couldn’t handle it.
If you’re not a prime member you should seriously consider it! This also worked great around our landscaping in the back yard. After using a trimmer for ten years, this was a blessing to use. The first pass in edging went very smoothly, with no hitches at all.
During a job like that you do have to open it up and clean around the blade a few times (UNPLUG it first), but it only takes a moment. I also think it’s easier to clean up after the edger than a string trimmer and you don’t have to worry as much about flying debris. I have been very satisfied with the product. I use it about 8-10 times a year. Best advice to you for first time use on over growth, use a string trimmer to clear over growth, and then use the edger. Use a blower/rake to clear your path, and then make one more pass with the edger.
Last year we moved to a new house on a corner lot, and my battery powered weed whacker was just not up to the task. REPLACE AUTO GLASS.
