It’s The Second One I Bought – Rolling Lawn Edger Review
Yes hulling that much of cord is a bit of a pain, however, it’s still easier than trying to maintain a gas edger. However, I do not recommend that you use more than 200 feet of cord. I recommend this product highly as it is easy to use and does exactly what it is supposed to do. The machine itself is very easy to use.
Great doing straight edges but cumbersome when attempting to do curved edges where a stringed edger is so much easier. I bought one of these units many years ago and it lasted a good long time, probably 10 years, and I have quite a bit of sidewalk and driveway to edge.
Get over that small learning curve and you are home free with an edger that works, is not noisy or troublesome, and lets you keep the wallet a little fatter. My wife and I are very happy that we bought this edger and we both recommend it. I understand that the Edge Hog is not for professional landscapers, it is perfect for the average home owner, and the price is right. Simple to use and the powerful motor does not get stuck. Seemed pretty powerful for an electric edger. I found it to be a bit messy if you have never done it before.
I cut slots in the lawn within 1/2 inch of my radial wires (#14 insulated wires) and the Edge Hog didn’t even move them. Very accurate cutting and easy to see where you are going with it. In the end this is an electric edger that requires an electrical cord, so I could only recommend this for personal use on smaller residential lots. However for the average homeowner this is perfect. It is a great investment. I would highly recommend it.
They recommend checking for electric cables before using this unit. After some futility in using a manual edger to dig the trench for an invisible fence, I bought one of these.
It is easy to handle and powerful enough to penetrate the red clay crust in our yard. I had a little trouble getting precision edge-lines since I was used to a single-wheel model that has been discontinued. But this edger has plenty of power for my needs, and although I was a total novice at this task I was edging in no time. I agree with other reviewers that the instructions are essentially worthless, but you don’t need them anyway. He loves it. He says that it is much easier to handle than the neighbors gas one.
It had a tough time with cutting through areas where sod had grown over the walk. I had to use an edging spade to prepare the way for the edger.
I have a very long driveway and sidewalk so by the time I’m finished, my hold on fingers are tired out. I wore out an edge hog type 3.
Two horsepower is plenty adequate for your basic edging needs. POOL LANDSCAPING IDEAS.
