Wonderful Item At A Great Price – Murray Lawn Edger Review

It took one time to get the hang of it. A gas one would be more convenient, but for price I am ok with it.

But much to my delight the Edge Hog cut through everything like butter. What I was expecting to take a few weeks took a few hours instead. If you’re considering this unit, or any B&D product, be warned. This edger’ wide housing makes it difficult to see where to line up the guide to the concrete walk when edging the lawn.

It took a few minutes for me to get a handle on using it. Once you learn how to use the alignment guides on the edger you should have no problem get that nice crisp looking cut to your yard.

I have St Augustine grass and the top of the lawn is about three inches taller than the sidewalk. This leaves a lot to cut. This edger is easy to use, has plenty of power and does a nice job. It does clog with mud quickly when the soil is wet, and (probably unavoidably) wears blades fairly quickly. This unit is that powerful. Aside from the features mentioned above, the price/performance of the Edge Hog makes it an excellent value.

The blade refuses to go; it is as good as new. As for the absence of guide, it is way too obvious to know where the cutting blade is when running the edger. I have been nothing less than rough with it (careful, it will chip your sidewalk/driveway into little pieces). Works like a charm and for $89?

At first, I was trying to get by with using my weed whacker for edging, which worked ok the first two times. Since I live on a large corner lot with a sidewalk and the street to edge I felt like I was killing myself.

It is easy to assemble. Quiet, powerful, lightweight and easy to use. The edging really helps drain the water. Of course, it looks great too, especially when I follow it up with the weed eater. Lightweight monster with plenty of power. A breeze to clean. I do not like gas powered yard equipment, because gas lines dry up, and there are just so many problems with them, this is a very powerful electric item, and well worth the money. Had used a manual push type for years, broke down and got this. This has worked great for a year. Smells like something is burning and it stopped working.

I am undecided if it is better to push forward or pull backwards when using it, but either way works pretty well. Chipped Windshield.
