Horrible, Do Not Buy This Item – John Deere Lawn Edger Review

Move it forward two feet, back one foot–nice cut. Moving it forward and back gives you a clear sight on what it’s doing and the results are fine. You can (supposedly) also use it for carving holes through your yard by moving the guide-piece out of the way. Be careful about dinging your concrete with this, it is very easy to want to shift positions with the edger and “set it down” on the concrete, which will put little chip-marks into it. The blade is not sharp and showed considerable abrasion and wear after just a few of minutes of use. This product is like everything else Black and Decker has made in the last decade or so…junk.

This tool doubles as a trencher, meaning it cuts a nice path a few inches deep into which you can run hose or water lines to the garden with ease. I intend to use this B&D edger next spring when I put in an irrigation system. If I hadn’t bought this product, I’d still have this project to look forward to next weekend. The Edge Hog works great.

I stood there for a minute just looking at the grass I just edged. I immediately thought to myself, “This is well worth every penny.” You should also be aware that things will get pretty messy when you’re using it as the dirt that’s being displaced is flung at high speeds in a forward direction. Of course, there’s really no way of getting around this when you’re edging or creating trenches. The edges look clean and it is easy to use. It could use a little more power, but we expected that going in.

Purchased to replace a weed eater edger that was 15 years old and had gone on to wherever old worn out weed eaters go. Used it today for first time and found it to be superior to the aged weed eater product. It gives my lawn that crisp finished look I want, it’s easy to use and it is consistent. In three years of use, I’ve only had to replace the blade once.

From bending over, my back was killing me. This edger is a worthy successor.

I love this new edger! It was easy to put together and easy to use. Although I wish I could have figured out how to use the weed eater to edge my lawn, this purchase was what my lawn needed. Future edgings should be quick and convenient. I had expected the edger to cut the grass cleanly. If you don’t want to deal with gas-powered edger, this is THE ONE.

In three years of use, I’ve only had to replace the blade once. contemporary coffee tables.
