Works Well, It’s Outstanding – Gas Lawn Edger Critique

Overall I am very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone. And judging from the curious looks by the neighbors, I’m sure I’ll get the chance.

This edger is a major time and muscle saver over the manual ones I’ve used, such as the Rittenhouse edging and trenching tool (ASIN: B0002ZQGZQ). I still use the manual Rittenhouse to start new edging projects, but this electric edger is a dream come true for ongoing maintenance. 3 bolts to put it together out of the box and no tools needed. I am very pleased with its performance. One thing that’s nice is the adjustable depth but don’t count on it being accurate. As soon as the blade wears some, it’s worthless for that.

If I could, I’d give this piece of junk 0 stars. I’ve never had a B&D product that has lasted any length of time. I highly recommend this edger. I purchased my electric B&D Edge Hog in 2005 and decided to finally write a review on it. It’s easy to use and does a great job. I don’t know how I made it without it. The edger makes a much better trench next to my driveway, much more easily. Since my old driveway is level, or even a bit below, the lawn, water tends to pool on it after a rain. A little difficult to use if you’ve never used one before, but relatively easy to use once you get the hang of it. Produces a professional edging for sidewalks and driveways. This is the first edger I’ve ever owned, but it seems to work very well. There is a metal guide that makes it very easy to make a perfectly straight cut along your driveway or sidewalk.

It gives a nice separation between the yard and our landscaping border bricks. I’ve only used it a couple of times since purchase but I love it! It now has so little power it’s useless. I’m shopping for another model now.

The original blade has hardly any wear on it. The accuracy of the “cut” is remarkable. My husband had never edged before, doesn’t like anything not gas operated; but even he said the same thing. I would recommend it to anyone. Guides are easy to see and use. Makes a very clean edge.

Very misleading in the description. Storage Ottoman Tray.
