The Best Results – Lawn Edger Tool Critique

It tends to pass thru thick clumps of grass instead of cutting thru them. I find I have to pull the cut grass after I pass thru.

It cuts through tough grass easily because of the motor amp. The only thing I did not like about this product is the blade.

My wife and I had always used a hole to edge with. Boy what a difference the edger made. This edger is easy to use, has plenty of power and does a nice job. It does clog with mud quickly when the soil is wet, and (probably unavoidably) wears blades fairly quickly. If you haven’t tried gas you owe it to yourself to try one. You will never go back to electric. This edger works fine in my small urban yard. I do have to go over some spots a 2nd time to cut our wire-y southern grass but I like the quiet operation and simplicity of plug it in and cut.

Received as promised in excellent condition. Required very little assembly and no tools.

This Black and Decker edger does not seem to show the weaknesses of the Weed Eater. Plus, being electric, it is much quieter and cleaner to operate.

The reason I still use the manual tool for trenching projects is the electrical motor in the Edge Hog is pretty powerful. I don’t want to risk prematurely shortening the cutting blade’s life, or – worse – causing injury or damage from flying rocks.

I can’t return it once it’s been used, so I guess I’ll find out how good the B&D warranty process works. I was very impressed by this edger. I have a couple hundred feet of edging on my front yard and I can do the whole job in maybe 20 minutes tops. It beats the heck out of trying to get a clean, even, straight job with a string trimmer. It kicked up a lot of solid dirt and clay. After the first cut, I was ready to go from there on out! All in all I would recommend this to my friends. This is easy to operate and does a good job. Currently, I have to go over it 2-3 times wasting my valuable time. I cannot recommend this unit.

We changed our minds several times before purchasing the edger – our other options were to rent a gas powered edger or use a manual one. We are pleased with our decision; it was the perfect tool for installing the wire.

Run the unit hard for a bit on a summer day and the motor melts. recliner loveseat slipcover.
