This Product Is Worthless – Gas Powered Lawn Edger Critique
It is easy to assemble. Quiet, powerful, lightweight and easy to use. I am not happy with the short handle on this edger or the strength of the machine. I have used it only once and it worked well It won’t cut the grass, it just crush… The blade sticks out further then the guide is and the blade is always hitting the walk way or drive way. Even when you adjust the setting to the least amount of cut. I am very happy with the new Edge Hog. I had used them in the past, but this new model is super excellent. Item was advertised as “NEW”. I cut slots in the lawn within 1/2 inch of my radial wires (#14 insulated wires) and the Edge Hog didn’t even move them. Very accurate cutting and easy to see where you are going with it. The adjustable guide is a handy feature that allows trimming close to the sidewalk without creating shower of sparks. I recommend this product for anyone doing weekly edge trimming on their lawn. I can’t wait for 2 weeks to go by so I can convince myself I need to do it again. My neighbors were out checking it out, and they really need an edger.
It worked better than expected and I am very happy. For the money it’s a great buy despite getting some strange looks from my women friends, I requested this for my birthday. However, my husband insists on a gas edger at 4 times the price, so I gave it to a friend as a gift. I bought a second one for my father-in-law and he loves it.
In fact, I was tempted to keep going and doing my neighbor’s lot! The Edge Hog was easy to assemble and I quickly learned how to use it even though I had no previous experience with edgers.
I have owned this edger for nine months and have used it weekly, and it has yet to disappoint me in any way. It is lightweight, quiet, and easy to use and does an excellent job of edging my lawn.
I even think it’s better than my neighbor’s gas-powered edger. And the price is great to.
There was so much yard cut off that I had to haul most of it away using a shovel, when it was done and after I swept up, there was a perfectly straight, neat cut on my yard. I would pay $79 for this every time, and I get to keep this and do it for years to come!
The edger is light weight, easy to control, and has a nice guide-piece that makes it quick to use. I am undecided if it is better to push forward or pull backwards when using it, but either way works pretty well. We have St. Augustine grass here in Florida.
I haven’t used it as a trencher for my beds, but I imagine it would do the job quite well. Backyard Landscaping Pictures.
